Full-service application coaching/mentoring, from Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year all the way up to the decision.

In this package, Dr. Parker will:

•Provide the most current information about colleges and best judgment about options available

•Evaluate the student’s record, including high school transcript, standardized test results, extracurricular activities, athletic activities, and special talents

•Assist in selection of high school academic curricular choices and plan extracurricular activities, including meaningful summer activities

•Assess career and possible college major interests

•Clarify student’s priorities and requirements for his/her college experience, understand the selection criteria of specific colleges or universities, and research and select appropriate schools to generate a long list of good match schools

•Create a list of target schools for the student to visit and prepare student to conduct meaningful visits

•Refer to resources for test preparation and academic tutoring, if necessary

• Develop student interview skills and confidence through mock interviews

• Assist in narrowing down the “long list” of good match schools to a shorter list of best match schools

• Discuss and evaluate early decision, early action, and other decision options

• Assist with preparation of activity list and/or résumé

• Assist with selection of recommendation letter writers

• Assist with essay writing—primarily topic development and critique—for general essays (Common App, U of California, Apply Texas) and for school-specific supplemental essays

• Assist with preparation of supplemental materials

• Assist with application preparation—including organizational assistance, time and stress management, and making suggestions for the order of information to be included on the application

• Assist with application follow-up procedures

• Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner

• Assist with final decision concerning which college to attend, including discussing financial aid packages with families and schools if needed

• Assist with wait-list or appeals processes, if necessary

• Assist student and family with transition-to-college process
